John 10:10 says that "...I (Jesus Christ) have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."  "Life to the full"... I was not sure what this meant, but I knew I was not living this full and abundant life that had been mentioned in the Bible. Perhaps this was because after much reflection, I realized that I had no purpose or hope for my life.

Picture yourself competing in a basketball game, against a difficult and relentless team, being destined to lose, and having neither the hope to win or the will to try.  This is the situation I found myself encountering, not in the game of basketball, but in life.  As I reflected on my relationships with family and friends, opportunities at school, and basketball hopes that were quickly deteriorating, I realized that I was doing something wrong.  I was living only for the one that mattered to me the most, which was myself, and this had been leading me to nothing and to be nothing as well.  Finding myself in a losing position in life with no reason to try other than to continue in an ongoing, meaningless, and hopeless existence, I gave up and tried to just accept this life that I was headed towards.  However, I would quickly find that a life without hope and purpose is not worth living.

Having few alternatives in mind, I decided to place my hope and trust in Jesus Christ. And though my life didn't get easy and didn't change instantaneously, I have come to find joy and purpose in serving Him and hope of eternal life with Him.  As I continue to trust God with this life that he has entrusted to me, I have also noticed Him restoring the things in my life that I had spent many years of my life destroying. I hope and pray that you would find hope, purpose, and a full life in Him, as I have.
