B’s House

I call it like I see it!!!!

Ok let’s get down like Chinatown. This week’s games solidified the playoffs for next week.  I’ll have the schedule at the end of my recap.

Game 1

Gao Jian Wang    Daniel Quach         Hubert Lim            Peter Tam                              Calvin Lee

Gray 55 vs White 33

Gray dominated this game from the beginning.  It’s surprising that a team that consists of 3 of the four oldest members in this league (me being the youngest of the old farts 36 and two thirds), were able to keep the up tempo pace. Calvin 40, Daniel 38 and of course Peter Tam, who is a tad over 80, are on the Gray Team to match their gray hairs. The Gray team had a balanced attack on the boards as 5 players had 5 or more rebounds but White had 3 players who had 10 boards(Darryl, Hubert and Kevin Mau) . Gray Team’s ability to push the ball and spread the defense, caused White to over extend and create holes in their defense.  As the White Team tried to put pressure on the ball with a hard man to man press, fatigue eventually set in.

Along with Kevin’s 10 boards he also had 2 blocks and here they are.

Game 2

Erik Chan is the closet thing to Steve Nash in this league, but the swarming defense of Green suffocates like a green, gaseous cloud swallowing whole, live animals and ripping the flesh from their bones for soup..

Green 65 vs Black 40

This game was over before it started. What else is there to say? Green had the familiar lines: Shermanator Lee 23 points and 8 rebs, JC another 15 rebounds, and John Kwok 1 Block. JC is short for “Just Caught” another rebound and John Kwok could have had more blocks but Black Team’s Oz refused to play thus ending his consecutive “shooting into the hand” streak. He’s still my pick for M-B-P!!!! M-B-P!!!! M-B-P!!!!(see recap week 1 or ask anybody on Cornerstone’s Team what that stands for)

No one blocks Oz’s shot this week.  Feel better Oz!!!

Game 3

Blue 50 vs Red 35 this is not a typo

The Blue Team has struggled all season.  Every game they lost made them stronger and sharing during devotion time made them more cohesive.  But there was an inner blue flame that was flickering inside their hearts.  All we needed was an excuse to let it out and the spark that ignited the explosion was Wilson Chui. You see we all hate Kobe but he shared with us, that not only is Kobe his favorite player, but that he plays like Kobe and we just haven’t seen it yet. As we ridiculed him and made fun of Kobe’s game during sharing, Kobe decided to score over 200 points that week. By week’s end, our team emailed each other to admit Kobe’s not bad.

For our game plan, We had to deal with Greg “Big Sexy” Wong.  We all had our defensive responsibilities and we knew what we had to do... We had to take his SEXY!  So on our first possession, I ferociously grabbed a rebound from Greg and let out a roar as I sent out a screaming long pass to Alan aka Manchild aka Dwight Howard for a quick layup.  I let out another battle cry to let it be known, we were taking SEXY BACK!!!! Greg knew he was up against a Blue HEAT that he had never witnessed before. Sherman volunteered to be Smush Parker to compliment WilsonKobe” Chiu but Red Team’s Ian Go turned up his defense and had Sherman on lock for the beginning of the game. So it was up to Kobe and Kobe delivered. Starting with a lay up followed by a three the Blue team was just as amazed as the Red Team.  Who is this guy? But because of the Sexy factor we had to keep playing hard.  The Red team was not letting up but their constant turnovers kept us ahead by 10 at the half.  Going into the second half we knew this was where we fall apart and where Sexy takes over. To make a long story longer, Kobe took over and drove in at will scoring in the key composing two 3 point plays to help us cushion the lead. The Red Team played valiantly and Greg played the most minutes of any game this season but the Blue had banded together to support Kobe.  Another motivation was to give teammate Marc Kwok a win to talk about as he couldn’t make the game because he was driving back from Vegas. We knew he probably needed to hear about a win badly coming back from Vegas. We would like to change our team name from the Blue team to the Blue Flames as we engulf our opponents and burn the nets with our hot shots of blazing flares.  FLAME ON!!!!!!  j/k you know Im just playin right? We’ll just go with “Blue Team”.

One Way

As we conclude the Claims of Christ, we want to thank all of you for being open minded and allowing us to present Christ to you. Over the week’s I hope that the facts we provided were compelling enough to provoke thought, discussion, and curiosity. I encourage all of you who shared that they believe or do not believe in the afterlife, to secure your beliefs through the testing of your faith.  Why not secure your afterlife by seeking out your belief?  The journey can be very rewarding.

What better way to see and hear what we’ve been talking about than to attend our Easter Musical BELIEVE!!!
